Like most of the rest of the world, Main Street Fairmont is looking forward to an end to the COVID - 19 era. We realize that the current restrictions won't be lifted overnight; however, we are hard at work planning a number of events for 2021, including the popular Hometown Markets and the return of the live Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival. The exact format of this summer's events is still being worked out, but rest assured, we will continue to follow all guidance issued by the CDC and the Marion County Health Department to bring you a series of safe, COVID-19 compliant events.
We had a great response to our first request for feedback and would like to thank everyone who took the time to let us know the activities they would like to see at our Hometown Markets. Over the next few weeks, we will continue to ask for your opinion on what types of activities would you like to have included in the Hometown Markets. So far, here are some of the great ideas that have been suggested:
Corn hole tournaments
Craft beer festival
Community yard sale
Intramural sports leagues using local facilities
Food trucks with a cocktail truck
Parking lot garden spots
Outdoor educational events
Historic Street Tours
While we won't be able to incorporate all of these activities in the Hometown Markets, we want to include as many as possible. Have a great idea you would like to share, or you would like to volunteer to help with one of the markets, please click here.
We are also looking for vendors for our Hometown Markets, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, arts & crafts, and Food/trucks & booths. If you have a product that you believe would help make our markets great, please click here and tell us about your offerings. Once we have all of the details ironed out, we'll let you know how you can register.
