$30,000 in Façade Grants Awarded to Downtown Businesses

Main Street Fairmont is pleased to announce that $30,000 of façade grants were recently awarded to six downtown businesses for improvements to buildings in the Main Street Fairmont footprint.

The façade grants, which require a 50/50 match from the business owners, represent at least $60,000 in improvements to our downtown district over the next 12 months.

Following are some key points regarding the first round of façade grants:

· Nine buildings in our downtown will be improved through this project

· Seven of those buildings are currently vacant and will be renovated for reuse

· Four awardees are businesses owned by women, minorities, or veterans

· The total estimated cost of the improvement projects is $111,437

Main Street Fairmont would like to thank the County Commission of Marion County for their initial investment in the Monroe Street Project. The City of Fairmont for their continuing support, and our 2022 Sustaining Sponsor, WVU Medicine Fairmont Medical Center, and our Patron sponsors, Antero Resources, the EQT Foundation, and WesBanco for their trust and their investment in the future of Fairmont.
