Main Street Fairmont Announces New Board Members

Fairmont, WV - Main Street Fairmont is pleased to announce the addition of new institutional board seats to its Board of Directors. These seats are reserved for officials in City government and leaders of area non-profit organizations tasked with economic development in the region. "These seats are not held for specific individuals," stressed Brad Merrifield, President of Main Street Fairmont's Board of Directors, "they are reserved for certain leadership positions within the city and community." He stated. New positions on the board are reserved for the President of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Director of the Marion Regional Development Corporation, and a representative from the City Planning Department. Effective immediately these seats will be filled by Tina Shaw, President of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce, Allen Staggers, Executive Director of the Marion Regional Development Corporation, and Alex Petry, Assistant Planner for the City of Fairmont.

"I believe the synergies formed by a closer affiliation with these entities and their leaders will provide expanded opportunities for partnering and provide valuable insight from seasoned civic and business leaders." Said Dan Swiger, Executive Director of Main Street Fairmont.
